For a while there I was banging on about god and related topics on here. I was dating a born again god botherer for a little too long, I guess the whole god thing was on my mind. I noticed a lot of people stopped reading during that time, who'd have thought writing about god could cause offence? Or boredom? It's not like I proposed a full contact football game, god's folks against the rest. I wasn't asking anyone to prove or justify their faith, didn't tell anyone what they should believe. I did point out that much of religion is purely cultural, that god and religion are most often separate topics. Hardly news. I did point out that some twisted people exploit the best in other people by twisting their god, like nobody ever said that before. I did question the fundamentalist statement "I believe because I believe, it just is", and fair enough too.
I'm not going to bother any more. Writing about god is a dead loss. Those who are into god are into god, good luck to them, I envy the need but don't see the prize. Those who are into god look down on those of us who aren't into god, believe we are lesser humans for it. Again, good luck to them. I'm no longer seeing the born again god botherer so the topic won't be on my mind, I'll stick to my domain, the earthly.
